Carol Pawlak directs Corporate Affairs and Philanthropy for Amgen in San Francisco and serves as chief of staff to the San Francisco R&D site head. Pawlak has more than 25 years of experience in Corporate Communications at large companies such as G.D. Searle (Pfizer), Kemper Insurance Companies, Tektronix, and Household International (HSBC); as well as marketing communications, advertising and public relations for the PR/Advertising agency McClenahan Bruer Communications. Pawlak serves on the boards of the California Life Sciences Institute and Cancer Pathways (formerly Board Chair Gilda’s Club Seattle); the Silicon Valley Leadership Group Health Committee and Working Group; and lectures on Communications and Public Relations at the University of Washington.
